寺内遠江守（寺内近江守？）の嫡男。小十郎。楯岡満廣の嫡男である親茂が、その伯父・楯岡（本城）満茂の養子となったため、満廣の養子となってその跡を継いだ。後に親茂が急死してしまったことを受け、信義の三男・満旨が本城家の跡を継ぐこととなった。
